I wanted to look at how the photographs of McLellan could be used to influence how we look at objects. My particular interest is in music and I have a number of instruments easily available to me at home, so I started with a piano and a few guitars. Without taking the objects apart as McLellan did, I chose to abstract the angles of the objects though lighting and positioning of the camera. The viewer is encouraged to look deeply at the instruments to identify what they are and therefore perhaps think about how they are constructed.
